"The Shack" has been in my husband's Porter side of the family for many many years. From my understanding, it once served as an adorable summer cottage getaway and eventually converted into a 4-season home! Levi's grandpa, Sam, told us when he was a kid and would have a break during a very hot summer day on the farm, he would escape down to The Shack and go swimming in the backyard pond. I guess you could say it was a little piece of paradise on Porter Farms! Many family gatherings and friends would come down to visit and stay at The Shack. SO many great memories were made here and I would honestly give anything to go back in time and see it in its glory days! I absolutely LOVE seeing old pictures and hearing stories about The Shack. 

In 2017, not too long after we got married, Levi started working on the farm full-time, and we officially started demo day on The Shack! We wanted to save as much as we could but unfortunately, it wasn't possible. We ended up putting a new basement, and made the footprint wider while keeping the same floorplan. We were able to save the chimney, mantel, rock wall and the concrete garage. 

When Presley and I brainstormed store names, I remember texting her "The Shack" and she came back with "The Chic Shack". I was SOLD! I think it uniquely describes us! We LOVE how clothes can make you feel and remembering what you wore during a special event or memory! We knew The Shack would be the place for our office and all of our inventory, a place where we hope you make some great memories in stylish, trendy, chic pieces of clothing from The Chic Shack <3
